How AGN handles information
AGN can discover a story anywhere, but publication should rely on the best available original or authoritative source. League, team, school, competition and official-document sources come first where they exist. Reputable reporters and outlets are used when primary information is unavailable or when they are the original breaker.
Verify before publishing
Names, dates, scores, injuries, roster moves, rankings and numbers should be checked against an appropriate source before they appear as fact.
Say what is uncertain
If a story is developing, reported rather than confirmed, disputed, or simply not yet known, the language should make that clear.
Write it ourselves
AGN reports facts in original language. We do not rewrite another outlet's article sentence by sentence or treat another writer's expression as our own.
Correct visibly
Material factual errors should be fixed promptly and accompanied by a correction or update note when the change matters to the reader.
Source labels
Supported by an official source, primary material or sufficiently strong corroboration.
Credible reporting exists, but AGN is not presenting the information as an official confirmation.
The core event is real, but important details are still changing.
Not suitable to publish as fact. AGN should normally hold this information rather than amplify it.
Reliable sources materially disagree. The disagreement itself becomes part of the story.
A previously published factual statement has been materially changed.
AI and automation
Automation can help AGN monitor sources, organise information and prepare drafts. AI is never treated as a source. Reader-facing publication remains subject to human review, and higher-risk material requires additional scrutiny.
Betting coverage
Betting coverage is price-sensitive and for adults 18+. AGN does not use language such as locks or guarantees. A recommendation can move from BET to LEAN to PASS when the price changes. Betting is entertainment, not income.
Copyright and attribution
Quotes should be limited to what is necessary. Photos, graphics and other media require appropriate rights or licences. When another reporter breaks a story, attribution should make that origin clear even when AGN independently verifies the underlying facts.
