Croydon Rangers returned to Victoria with two championships after their men’s and women’s teams swept the senior titles at the 2026 Asia Pacific Flag Football Club Championships in Sydney.
The Rangers women set the tone at Pittwater Park, producing an emphatic performance to defeat Yeah Nah 52–24 in the championship game. The men then completed the double with a 45–35 win over Mystery Men in a much tighter final.
It was an impressive weekend for one of Australian American football’s longest-established clubs. Croydon travelled north with strong squads in both divisions, including several players who made the trip from the United States, and walked away with both senior trophies.
The women were in control by half-time of their final and pulled away after the break, turning what had shaped as a competitive championship game into a convincing victory.
The men had a considerably tougher fight. Mystery Men stayed with the Rangers throughout a high-scoring final, but Croydon found enough separation to close out a 10-point win and complete the club double.
The championships were held across 5–6 September at Pittwater Park in Warriewood, bringing together teams and officials from Australia and overseas. The event also included a junior championship, won by Queensland’s BMP Elite+ after an undefeated weekend.
For Croydon, the two trophies arrive just as attention turns back towards the Victorian tackle season.
The Rangers have been part of Victorian American football since 1984 and are preparing for a 2026 Gridiron Victoria campaign expected to run through to finals in late November or December.
That makes the Sydney success more than an isolated flag football result. It is another achievement for a club that continues to build programs across different versions of the sport while maintaining its long-standing place in Victorian tackle football.
